WHAT HAPPENED?
According to , Forest had agreed personal terms with Kalimuendo before finalising a £26m ($35m) deal with Rennes, where he was contracted until 2027.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Forest are having a restructure in attack to build on last season's seventh place finish. Having signed Dan Ndoye from Bologna and secured Morgan-Gibbs White to a contract extension, the English club are planning to add more firepower in attack. Kalimuendo scored 17 goals and provided three assists for Rennes as they finished 12th in Ligue 1 last season.
